Mundane moves.

No matter what color they paint them, these lurid local trains are a big hit for daily commuters like me in Kolkata.I live in a suburb and travel a good one and a half hour by trains to reach college every frigging day.As they say it all depends on one's perception,so I thought I'll ignore the sad part about travelling by local trains(the thought of which is revolting) and remember what makes for a good gag.Unless you are a woman and are unaware of how men feel about women, you are likely to get on one of the many general compartments and feel like a sudden tempest in a coconut farm, blowing the...kill yourself if you don't get the expression. If you are a man, unaware of how women feel about men,you can help yourself to one of the two ladies' compartments and feel at home.I meant your fire shall be doused in no time martyr and you can seek the helping of your brethren, then by immediately getting off at the next station.

I,however find a safe place to park my butt where its easier to escape the condescending gaze of these funny women that I observe,to forget the sad part,I mean.
Trains sell everything, from bananas to bras.Yes.You will find women collectively bargaining on rates of bananas on one hand and bras on the other and these male hawkers(hawk is a bird of prey) generously studying B-lines to all the visible lines on women's bodies.Munching on one of the many concoctions they sell,I observe every possible thing within eyesight. Here I see kids picking their noses, blowing snot bubbles, there I see, women sticking their smelly, sweaty bodies against one another, animatedly discussing issues they are least aware of,trying hard in vain to maintain maximum distance fearing a possible exchange of lice,or larceny.Anything is possible. There are teenage girls giggling away on phones with their boyfriends, women growling about hefty husbands, men huddling to discuss monopoly and market or for a quick game of bluff.

My favorite meme on Facebook :D
People are extremely grumpy or extremely happy in trains.Sometimes a slight nudge can cause an uproar and a sudden smile can strike friendly chords. It is indeed a manifestation of a veritable Indian way of life,at large.Trains make the mundane move of life, memorable.Happy living. :)
